Accessibility Statement
Safe Online Space Cymru is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, as part of our mission to promote digital inclusion and online safety across Wales. We strive to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the UK Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations.
1. Our Commitment
We believe everyone should have equal access to digital information and services. Our website is designed with accessibility in mind to ensure a positive experience for all users, regardless of ability or technology.
- Simple and intuitive website navigation.
- Clear typography with readable font sizes.
- Keyboard-friendly navigation throughout the website.
- Regular accessibility reviews using recognised tools such as WAVE and feedback from users.
2. Accessibility Features
We have implemented a range of accessibility features to improve usability across our website, including:
- Text Alternatives: Alternative text is provided for images, graphics and safety resources.
- Keyboard Navigation: The website can be navigated without the use of a mouse.
- Colour Contrast: Text meets a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 to improve readability.
- Multimedia Accessibility: Captions or subtitles are provided for videos where available, with transcripts for audio content.
- Accessible Structure: Proper headings, lists, landmarks and ARIA labels support screen readers.
- Language Support: Content is available in both Welsh and English wherever possible.
3. Known Limitations
While we continually work to improve accessibility, we recognise that some areas of the website require further enhancement.
- Some older embedded videos, including certain YouTube content, may not currently include complete captions. These are scheduled for review and improvement by Q1 2026.
- Some mobile experiences are still being refined, with a full responsive accessibility update planned during 2026.
4. Feedback and Contact

When contacting us, it is helpful to include details such as:
